Twelfth grade (also known as 12th grade, grade 12, senior year, or class 12) is the twelfth year of formal or compulsory education. It is typically the final year of secondary school in most parts of the world. Students in twelfth grade are usually 17–18 years old. Some countries have a thirteenth grade, while other countries do not have a 12th grade/year at all.
A personalized twelfth grade education is one where the student takes ownership of their learning. They have goals they want to reach and they use the right mix of technology and tools to achieve them.
It’s important to start by understanding what classes 12th graders take as well as the learning objectives for English, math, social studies, and science. On this page you’ll find a detailed description of the core 12th grade classes included in Time4Learning’s online program plus information on how to homeschool a twelfth grader.
A typical course of study for twelfth grade students include advanced math, language arts and a high school level science and social studies course. In addition, many students will take at least one elective such as foreign language, fine arts, or career and technical education courses.
When reviewing potential curriculum options for 12th grade, make sure that the program(s) you choose:
